Privacy & Policy
How confidentiality works in therapy, and the limited exceptions required by law.
Confidentiality
The law protects the relationship between a client and a psychotherapist, and information cannot be disclosed without written permission.
Everything discussed in session remains strictly confidential. There are, however, circumstances in which the law requires or permits disclosure:
Full confidentiality and HIPAA documents are provided to new clients with their intake paperwork, delivered electronically through Ann’s secure health record system.
